Sigh, not quite....

It all started when GeekBoy got me a new video iPod. Then I searched the net for dog agility related videocasts. I found IceNRye's Videozine and kept watching it in hopes to see more dog agility, but I got interested in wanting to learn more about geocaching and went ahead and subscribed to Podcacher's podcast....it snowballed from there......

(edited because I can backspace at 80 words a minute and cannot spell!)

Probably :innocent: ...but lately we've been in the wrong place at the wrong time. Like driving south on 355 while stuff is being published less than a mile from our house

Hey, I'm Eric from Table 4 6. We (me, my wife & 4 daughters) are from Racine, WI. We started caching on April 10th, 2007 so we are pretty new to the sport. My brother actually turned me on to it, however he is not an active cacher. He went out a couple times with Team Hankey and explained the concept to me. I thought it sounded pretty cool but it wasn't until I went out and grabbed that 1st one (Jedi Graveyard BTW) that I realized a great new hobby was being born. It just so happened that around the same time my father-in-law purchased himself a new GPSr and had his old eTrex to hand down. Perfect timing I must say.
Then brkster hunted me down at work and introduced himself . He's been a great resource as I learn the ropes. Thanks Jeff. Of course he the one who told me about these forums and I immediately came to check it out.

Welcome aboard Eric, GeekBoy, and ClickChick. After getting beaten to a few first finds by Table 4 6, I looked up their profile, and among other things saw some of their pictures, and recognized Eric as the man who runs the cafeteria where I work. I went up to him the next day and introduced myself. Would you believe that Mrs Folk Traker works at our organization (WFH-All Saints) too, plus there are a couple occasional geocachers in my department (lab). This sport is really catching on.

Well, hopefully you'll be paying a little bit of attention while you're hiking and at least walk around them instead of into them... ^_^

Well I think I lurked here once or twice and then forgot about it.

I'm back.

O.K. I am John and my wifes name is Sharon. We live on the southwest side of Milwaukee. Or name came from our favorite vacation spot :cactus: and our addiction/problem. In May 2006 I had back fusion surgery and the doctor wanted me to start walking. So we saw a snippet on the news about geocaching and decided to give it a try. We started at the end of June 2006. It was a sight to see me walking through the woods with a upper body brace on ( I looked like a turtle). Enough of that. Well just wanted to say hello and that we hope to meet all of you at an event or on the trails.

I'm glad to have the chance to meet some of the signatures I've found in those logs.
I'm Vern from Burlington and a wanderer at heart. I like caching with my son the most, but I'll take along Mrs. Scoutdad and our daughter too. That limits our fun, since neither cares for anything with mosquitos or ticks. Basically, that leaves only urban hunts.
As is probably the case with most of you, my caching hero is Roger. I know what you're thinking-"Who else?!".
Summer is a tough time for me, as I'm too busy for much caching, but my calendar opens up in mid-October and I'm looking forward to big hunts.
I've only met a couple of you by chance on the trails, but I hope to see more of you soon at an event.

Who is this Roger fellow you speak of :shifty: . We have only heard of him and never have seen him in person. So he is real.

Oh, the elusive Rogheffus Coordinnotus is indeed real - hes seldom spotted at the seekers interpretation of where you would THINK you could find him, but sometimes 30 feet away from that point. Other times, hes nowhere nearby - he just leaves tiny containers to prove his existence. We actually had a sighting last week, but it was after we had ventured well into the Rogheffus' home territory. Rumor has it, hes injured right now, and might be dangerous to seek out.

When we spotted him, he attempted to chase us off while lobbing ammo cans at us... ;)

Yes.. he is real. One day, someday, if you are as lucky as some of us here - you just might have a sighting of your own.

That's a darn fine question. Who is this "Roger" character? Sounds kinda shifty to me.

By the way Vern, welcome to the Wheypoint buddy!

Enigma, isn't that a machine that's designed to confuse you while at the same time giving you all the information you need to figure something out?

Sounds more like the 1942 Philco Problematic to me.
