To whom it may concern:

I put a lot of time, effort and money into my caches. If you don't like them for whatever reason, please just don't hunt them. If you're taking the time to hunt them, just so you can steal them for your collection, then what's the point? So I implore you, please leave them be. If you have a personal problem with me, then take it up with me. These caches belong not only to me and my family, but to the entire geocaching community.

Sincerely,
Jay

I second that and stand beside Jay, You are robbing all of us the thrill of finding a cache. Use your evil thinking mind to make and hide your own caches, or..... maybe you're just not that smart.

I'm with Ruff54 here. We actually tried to find Buggy Saturday and had the same luck as Johhny Cache. Even found the same robot arm.

That's two NEMESIS caches that I have searched for and had Jay confirm tha they were gone.

I still have Playing Games and +18 to get before they disappear!

I'm not the only one with this issue right now either. Since I made this post and another on the WGA, I've had several other SE Wisconsin cachers contact me stating they're having the same problem. I was hoping this was all coincidence but I'm sure it's not now. The other cachers I've spoken with have the same issues. They're creative or difficult to find hides are disappearing, but ammo boxes, matchstick containers and easy finds are all staying put. This can't be coincidence.

I've been following and commenting on the same thread posted on the WGA. Sorry to hear about those caches getting hit, Jay. Seems to me that Joker's Invitation to the Riddler was demolished the spring before last by someone. At this point, I wonder if it's someone with a geocaching.com account but has never logged any finds, thus remaining anonymous, but having access to all the cache information. My latest cache is in memory of a temp hide that was ripped off just prior to the event, and mysteriously returned a while later.

I wonder if that's a case of a Muggle finding your cache and taking it home, figuring out what it is, then actually being honest and returning it?

I still remember a hunter stealing one of my Christmas caches, and as he was walking back to his car, a cacher arrived to look for it. She saw what he was carrying, realized what it was, and was able to "rescue" it.

That's exactly what I think happened in this case. Lucky for me, Dave, you were able to come up with another container to fill in for the day. I thought the original was long gone until Jeff Thorson found it about a year later.

As for Jay's and a few other caches, that's where I was wondering if it was an anonymous account. From the sounds of it, it may be happening all over with intricate designed caches; just like with geocoin thefts.

I'm afraid he bit the dust too. Which one is gone now?

I tried to find #9 on Saturday but couldn't. That doesn't mean it isn't still there, it just means that I was getting real cold looking for it.

I'll PM you to let you know where I was looking.

I sure hope this stops. It's incredibly frustrating to have your very best caches dissappear. I stopped getting creative when this was happening to me, I hope the same doesn't happen to you Jay.

On a similar note, I've had this idea rattling around in the back of my mind for a cache series. I've had this series idea ever since I started caching. The perfect container has eluded me until very recently. That perfect container is critical to this series. I finally got one. I was starting to get excited about finally being able to actually place this series. I put this perfect container in a big metal box (Rogheff's 100th container) which was sitting next to my trailers at home. I had a whole bunch of ammo cans and other containers stored in this box.

Well, disaster struck. I have these junk guys that come haul away my scrap metal every couple of months. I guess, that big ol box looked like it held a bunch of scrap metal cause and garbage. I opened it a few days ago and it was empty.

I guess the series will have to wait another couple of years.

A seed cache with ammo cans instead of film containers?

Yes it was NEMESIS #18.

For those of you who never made it out to #18, I finally share. This was by far the easiest of any of the NEMESIS caches, and I did it that way on purpose, to give you all a break and a laugh. Bullshwag was just that, BULLSHWAG! It was about an 18" long ceramic sculpture of a bull. Around it's neck was a a small metal tube holding the log. Couldn't be easier.

Thanks to everyone for keeping the secret for so long. Your Bullshwag logs were awesome and gave me many many laughs!

That was ceramic? I could have sworn that it was metallic when we saw it. Must have been the paint job.

THIS CACHE WAS MY #300 FIND. I REALLY ENJOYED FINDING AND TELLING MY LITTLE BULLSHWAG STORY, AS WELL AS READING THEM ALL. THANKS FOR THIS ONE-SORRY TO SEE IT GO.
